What is a Living Trust?

All living trusts are designed to avoid probate. Probate can last as long as three years and can cost up to 10% of your estate’s value. A living trust is a legal entity created to hold title to your assets. It allows you to gather all of your significant properties into one document and ensures that your property is distributed easily and quickly to your loved ones upon your death.

A Living Trust can:

  • Allow you to control who inherits your assets
  • Establish guardianship for your minor children
  • Help your beneficiaries save substantial costs and avoid probate that is associated with wills
  • Provide you with more privacy than a will
  • Avoid certain estate taxes if prepared properly
  • Allow you to assign discretionary powers of your assets and medical decisions to someone in case of incapacity or disability

The Living Trust offered by our center is prepared by an attorney.
